Tony Packo’s has been a local favorite for more than seventy years. Serving authentic Hungarian food and their world-famous chili dogs, the restaurant has five locations in the Toledo area including the newest site near Fifth Third Field downtown. The restaurant received national recognition during the days of the television show “M.A.S.H.” Toledo-native Jamie Farr, who starred on the show, frequently made mention of his favorite dogs from his hometown.
You will find some of the best Mexican food around right here in northwest Ohio. For chimichangas and quesadillas that are enough for lunch the next day, you won’t have to travel far for delicious, authentic south-of-the-border fare. Some of the popular local Mexican spots include: El Matador, Loma Linda’s, Ventura’s, El Camino Real, Mi Hacienda, Carlita’s and El Vaquero.
In addition to fine dining, Hungarian and Mexican, you will also find great Japanese, Chinese, Polish and American cuisine in northwest Ohio including some great pizza places and cafes. Some other local favorites include: Mickey Finn’s Pub, Poco Piatti, Kotobuki, Grumpy’s, the Original Gino’s, Fritz and Alfredo’s, Byblo’s, the Beirut, Jing Chuan and Gianno’s.
